Community Gardens

The CPNA runs three community Gardens: Old Willow Green, Willow Green Extension, and Gildner Green.

Community gardens are a safe and inclusive place for individuals and families to gather and grow fresh produce, herbs, and flowers. You can learn and share knowledge with your neighbours and stay active and enjoy the outdoors year-round. The gardens are coordinated and maintained by volunteers, and the produce is not for commercial use.

Our gardens come with shared chores such as refilling the watering containers, building fences, weeding common areas and composting.

Due to increased demand, the gardens are usually full each year and we unfortunately have to turn down some applications. The waiting list for the following year starts January 1st. Most people who request at that time will get a plot. Be sure to return to this page to fill out an application for next year if you are keen to participate.

We give priority to Kitchener residents due to the City’s regulations.

To request a plot please return to this page January 1st and fill out an application.

Where we are located

Old Willow Green

(20 beds) Is located on Cherry Street beside the Willowburg Appartments

Willow Green Extension

(12 beds) Is located in middle of Raddatz Park (which runs between Gage Avenue and Cherry Street).  It is not on a street, you will need to walk in from Cherry Street along the creek path that goes out the back of the Old Willow Green Garden or come in from Gage Avenue along the little path that leaves the Iron Horse Trail at Gage and follows the creek on the westside. These plots require prior gardening experience.

Gildner Green

(4 beds) Is located at the intersection of Gildner Street and Eden Avenue. This garden gives priority to seniors or people with disabilities because it is fully accessible with raised beds.
