Volunteer Opportunity: Cherry Park Neighbourhood Association President

Position overview: As the President of the Neighbourhood Association, you will lead a dedicated team of volunteers to enhance the well-being of our community. This is a volunteer role that offers an opportunity to create meaningful connections and foster a vibrant and inclusive neighbourhood.
Key responsibilities:
Lead and represent: Act as the primary representative and spokesperson for the association, building relationships with residents, local organizations, and municipal officials.
Oversee operations: Call and chair meetings, guide the board and ensure initiatives align with the association's mission.
Foster engagement: Promote inclusivity and encourage active participation in events and programs.
Manage resources: Help oversee budgets, fundraising efforts, and grant applications to support community projects.
Address community needs: Respond to residents' concerns and work collaboratively to find solutions.
Oversee committees and events: Provide mentorship and support to ensure the successful planning and execution of neighbourhood events (e.g., Spring Clean Up, Cherry Festival, Labour Day Corn Social) and committees (e.g., Public Art, Community and Flower Gardens)
Qualifications:
Leadership and communication skills.
Ability to oversee multiple initiatives.
Commitment to community building and inclusivity.
Familiarity with the neighbourhood (an asset).
Experience in fundraising or budget management (an asset but not required).
Time commitment: This role requires a commitment of approximately 5 hours per month, including chairing 10 board meetings and 1 general meeting a year.
